1. Services
We understand that plans change. Our cancellation policy is as follows:
• Cancellations made with more than 48 hours’ notice: no charge
• Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice: the full session fee is payable
• Cancellations due to illness may be rescheduled at our discretion, with appropriate notice
We will provide as much notice as possible if we need to cancel or reschedule a session. Where we cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice and cannot reschedule, a credit will be applied to your account.
2. Bookings
All bookings must be made by a parent or guardian on behalf of students under the age of 16.
A booking is confirmed once written confirmation (including via email) has been provided by us. We reserve the right to decline a booking at our discretion.
3. Fees and Payment
Tuition fees are as set out on our website or as agreed in writing prior to the commencement of services.
• Invoices are issued monthly on the 1st of each month and are due within 7 days of the invoice date
• Payment is accepted via Stripe
• We reserve the right to review and update our fees with a minimum of four weeks’ written notice
• Sessions will not be scheduled where an outstanding invoice remains unpaid beyond the due date
4. Cancellations and Rescheduling
5. Conduct and Safeguarding
All online sessions take place on a video platform where both the student and tutor are visible. For safeguarding purposes:
• A parent or guardian must be present in the home (or immediately accessible) during sessions with students under 16
• Sessions may be recorded for safeguarding and quality purposes where consent has been given — you will be informed in advance
• We operate in line with recognised safeguarding best practice and expect all parties to conduct themselves with respect and courtesy
We reserve the right to terminate tuition immediately and without refund if a student or family member behaves in a way that is abusive, inappropriate, or in breach of these Terms.
6. Student Progress and Expectations
We will provide regular verbal or written feedback on student progress. Whilst we bring experience and genuine commitment to each student’s development, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes, grades, or results, as progress depends on a range of factors including effort, attendance, and home support.
7. Intellectual Property
All materials, worksheets, and resources created or provided by us remain our intellectual property. They are provided for the personal use of the student only and must not be shared, copied, or distributed without our written consent.
8. Liability
Our liability to you is limited to the value of sessions booked and paid for. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including any impact on examination results. We are not responsible for technical issues outside our control (e.g. internet outages or platform failures). Where a session cannot be completed due to such issues on our side, we will offer a replacement session.
9. Data Protection
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at www.centrepoint.education. By engaging our services, you confirm that you have read and understood how we handle personal data, including data relating to your child.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales (and, following the Tutor’s relocation to Scotland, Scots law as applicable). Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the relevant jurisdiction.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is available on our website. We will notify active clients of any material changes with a minimum of four weeks’ notice.
